Elektra Renewable Support continues its expansion in the renewable energy sector with the development of new wind power plants, strengthening its position in the production and operation market. At the conference “Romanian Energy Market – Facts of 2025”, Elena Popescu, the company’s CEO, presented the company’s future plans, emphasising its commitment to innovation, stability and quality.
Elektra Renewable Support was one of the pioneers of the renewables market, actively contributing to the first wave of development. And now, the company is still one of the strongly committed players with clear objectives and well-defined strategies. “Currently, we are continuing the development of new hybrid photovoltaic plants with storage and, starting this year, wind power plants in our portfolio.”
Looking to the future, Elektra Renewable Support has an ambitious plan: “In the next two years, the finalisation of the established projects is to follow.” To achieve its goals, the company has invested heavily in strengthening its team. “In 2024 we built the team, populated our organisation chart to prepare for 2025.” These endeavours are key to achieving the set targets: “In 2025, reaching the 800 MW target in operation and maintenance, and in 2026, surpassing the 1 GW threshold.”
Technological developments and system stability
The renewables sector is constantly expanding and Elektra Renewable Support is adapting by diversifying the technologies utilised. “Wind is starting to grow, photovoltaic has been built a lot and is still being built.” The company is focussing on a balanced energy mix, combining wind, photovoltaics and storage solutions to ensure stable and efficient generation.
In this context, grid stability is a priority. “We are balancing with storage facilities and beyond, hydro and conventional technologies.”
Commitment to quality and ethics
A fundamental principle of Elektra Renewable Support is to maintain high quality standards, regardless of financial pressures. “We’ve had many situations where we’ve been asked to somehow compromise on quality for a better profit margin, but there’s no way you can do that.” The company emphasises respect for the team and the hard work of its employees. “People are the reason we are here. In fact, it’s the work of all our colleagues that got us here.”
Elektra Renewable Support also strives for a balance between growth and sustainability, although it recognises that achieving this goal is not easy. “Adhering to the 8-8-8 principle (8 hours work, 8 hours with family, 8 hours sleep) is a difficult ideal to achieve in the industry, admits CEO Elena Popescu.
Through these initiatives, Elektra Renewable Support demonstrates not only a clear vision for the future of the renewable energy industry, but also a strong commitment to quality, innovation and balance.
