Elektra Renewable Support (ERS) has under construction two photovoltaic power plants equipped with energy storage facilities and is about to start the construction of five wind power plants with installed capacities ranging from 6 to 50 MW, said Elena Popescu, the company’s CEO, at the “Energy Day” conference organised by Energynomics within the Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec 2025.
“We have been active in the industry since its inception in 2009 and continue to invest. We are currently constructing two photovoltaic power plants with storage facilities, and soon we will start the construction of five wind power plants with installed capacities between 6 and 50 MW,” said Elena Popescu.
Since 2009, the company has utilised all available instruments on the energy market to increase its capacities and afford further investments.Since 2009, the company has utilised all available instruments on the energy market to increase its capacities and afford further investments.
“We started with the management of just 8 MW and now we manage a portfolio of 800 MW,” she emphasised.
According to Elena Popescu, in the coming period there will be a wave of hybridisations of renewable energy power plants, especially wind power. These will include adding wind turbines to existing photovoltaic parks, integrating storage batteries or combining the two in already operational projects, whether solar or wind.
The conference „Energy Day at Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec” was organized by Energynomics, with the support of our partners Elektra Renewable Support, LONGi, SolaX Power and with the involvement of HENRO, COGEN România, CIGRE România and FEL România.
