The future of energy lies in hybridizing existing renewable projects by adding battery storage systems, according to Elena Popescu, CEO of Elektra Renewable Support. She emphasized that Romania presents no weaknesses when it comes to energy investments.

“Hybridization is the future. There are no weak points when investing in Romania—we just need to find valuable partners who know what they are doing,” Popescu stated at the “Regional Approach Istanbul: Co-operation for profitable energy” conference organized by Energynomics and Enexus Renewable Energy.

Popescu highlighted the long-standing collaboration between Romania and Turkey, noting that Turkish manufacturers of energy equipment can easily deploy their products in Romanian projects.

Since 2009, Elektra Renewable Support has strengthened its business and maximized profits by leveraging all available commercial resources. With the implementation of energy storage systems, the company has not only supported the national grid but also generated additional revenues through this process. Starting next year, Elektra Renewable Support will integrate battery storage into all of its wind energy projects, with capacities ranging from 6 to 10 MW, underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable growth.

The conference “Regional Approach Istanbul” was organized by Energynomics and  Enexus Renewable Energy, with the support of our partners: Dentons, Electrica,  Elektra Renewable Support, Enexus Renewable Energy, Huawei, iNovat Energy Storage Solutions,  Photomate, Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, RomCapital Invest, Solar Today, Solpeg, STA Solar, Volt.
