Clearly, energy storage must be a priority for Romania, said Emil Calota, Vice President of the National Energy Regulatory Authority – ANRE, within the Energy Strategy Summit 2017, organized by energynomics.ro.
According to him, in current legislation, energy storage is encouraged for qualified producers accredited in the support scheme. According to the ANRE official there is also an interest from foreign companies which want to come to Romania with ideas for energy storage, which might, for example, capitalize on the storage capacity in the wind turbine tower. “If primary legislation will better support energy storage, we are attentive and prepared”, Calotă said, quoted by Invest Energy.
