Enel Distributie Muntenia started a program of modernization of the electricity distribution network of low voltage in Ilfov county, which will replace 90 km network. After completion of the upgrading works, the approximately 28,500 customers in the area included in the program will benefit from more security in the power supply. The estimated value of the works is 9 million lei (about 2 million euros).

By the end of this year 90 km of cable belonging to the low voltage distribution network in Ilfov County will be replaced completely, writes Bursa.

In addition, as part of its modernization program the insulated low voltage conductors will be replaced with twisted conductors with an enlarged section, providing greater safety for the power supply and the possibility of increased consumption. Also, the pillars and taps in the area included in the program of modernization which have a high degree of wear will be replaced.

The works will increase the security of supply of electricity to consumers and will ensure the takeover of an increased consumption by up to 25% from current levels. In some sections, the age of the network in the area exceeds 40 years. The works are carried out with the support of the mentioned city halls, which granted the permits.
