Starting this month, Enel customers can opt to receive the invoice via SMS, the company being the first energy provider in the country to launch a service that combines digital technologies such as SMS, internet on mobile devices and IVR. Factura prin SMS service is targeted to customers who use less and less the e-mails for correspondence, as an alternative to the invoice sending service via e-mail. Moreover, the SMS invoice also comes to support those who do not have access to the internet on their mobile phones.
The service aims at improving the experience of those who use Enel services, while also contributing to the sustainability objectives to which the Group has committed, by offering alternative options to those who want to opt out the invoice printed on paper in favor of the electronic version.
Factura prin SMS service is free of charge and can be activated by all residential customers with electricity and / or natural gas contracts.
The new way of sending the invoice to the clients comes to the those who do not have an e-mail address or do not use it for various reasons, but who wish to receive the invoice on time.
When issuing the customer invoice, Enel clients will receive an SMS with certain details: date of issue, invoice ID, value of the current invoice, total payment at the date of issue (in the case of customers with overdue invoices), the payment code, a phone number where they can call for additional information, as well as a personalized link. When accessing the link, customers will be directed to a web page from which they will be able to download both the current invoice and the previous invoices in PDF format. They will also be able to view the number of kWh invoiced and the online payments.
With the details from the SMS received when new invoice has been issued, Enel customers can pay the invoice or the updated balance to Enel’s collection partners, without the need of the printed invoice.
