The Italian group Enel, the largest foreign investor on the domestic electricity market, has given up its intention to sell its assets, even the minority shares of the companies it owns in Romania, according to sources quoted by e-nergia.ro.
“Enel no longer sells anything, it treats Romania as one of the important, strategic markets for the Group”, said the sources.
In the first three months of this year, Enel companies’ EBITDA profit was of 61 million euro, almost three times higher than the 21 million euro posted in the first quarter of 2019.
In the first quarter of this year, the supply division also entered into profit (15 million euros, compared to a loss of 22 million in the first quarter of 2019), so the Enel group reported operating profit on all business segments in Romania.
