Enel recalculates the already compensated invoices, so as to reflect the last normative acts approved at the end of last year, which regulate the application of VAT, and consumers could receive back less than 10 lei, on average.

“Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia eligible customers benefit from the provisions of the compensation scheme for electricity and natural gas consumption in the cold season 2021-2022, which is also reflected in the invoices issued in December and January, corresponding to the November, December and partly January consumption period. For the consumption included in the electricity compensation scheme, the two supply companies within Enel will reverse the invoices already issued with the support scheme, in order to fully reflect the calculation method mentioned in the legislative acts, in the context of their successive modification,” it is shown in a release of the company, according to Agerpres.

Thus, the invoices issued by Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia in December and January, related to the consumption during the period November 2021 – January 2022, which contain the compensation scheme for electricity consumption, started to be reversed last week. Subsequently, the two suppliers will issue recalculated invoices for the mentioned period.

For customers benefiting from the electricity compensation scheme who have paid the bills in question, Enel suppliers will deduct the value of these bills from the value of those issued on the basis of the adjusted calculation method.

According to the information obtained by Agerpres, it is about the way in which VAT is applied in invoices, a measure regulated at the end of December 2021. Thus, consumers could receive back an amount under 10 lei, on average, depending on the value of the invoice.

“Enel’s suppliers make every effort to reflect in the invoices the benefits provided by the compensation scheme and assure their customers that they will continue to apply this support, in accordance with the regulations in force,” the Enel statement also reads.
