Enel X Romania, part of Enel X Global Retail, the international business division of the Enel Group, which offers services that accelerate innovation and drive the energy transition, has designed, implemented, and put into operation 25 photovoltaic plants with a total nominal power of about 10 MW, in 2021.
More than 23,000 photovoltaic panels, covering a total area of over 50,000 square meters, the equivalent of more than ten football stadiums, were installed in 2021. With mono-crystalline type cells, the panels were installed both on roofs and on the ground. For the first time, Enel X Romania installed ground-based photovoltaic systems using state-of-the-art 650 W photovoltaic panels for two of its customers, with high efficiency and increased resistance to loads generated by snow and wind.
The installed photovoltaic power plants ensure an annual electricity production of about 12,000 MWh / year, contributing to cutting down carbon dioxide emissions by about 4,000 tons/year.
The installation of these energy generation sources brings savings for the partner companies by eliminating the costs associated with the electricity transmission and distribution and the contributions for green certificates and cogeneration.
“Electrification is the direction we are counting on in our strategy, the only solution to reduce the carbon footprint, but also to support companies to become energy efficient. In addition, the savings obtained from implementing turnkey customized photovoltaic solutions can be reinvested in the development of the main activities of our customers. We aim to reach a portfolio of over 75 MW of cumulated installed capacity for business customers by the end of 2025”, said Mirel Jarnea, Head of e-Industries, Enel X Romania.
In the last four years, Enel X Romania has carried out projects that involved the installation of about 40,000 photovoltaic panels. Components such as charging stations for electric vehicles, solutions for optimizing energy consumption and improving energy quality, available in the company’s portfolio, allow the delivery of integrated, turnkey solutions for beneficiaries.
With more companies focusing on solutions that streamline energy consumption and reduce the cost pressure, Enel X Romania estimates increased growth possibilities in several key markets, aiming to reach a nominal contracted power of 20 MW.
The equipment and technologies used by Enel X for these projects have high performance and reliability, coming from important suppliers for the global photovoltaic systems market.
