The energy production decreased in the first 11 months of 2019 by 7.9%, a significant decline, which also was earmarked in the export of electricity, which dropped by 39.5%, while the population consumption rose by 22.5% according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Tuesday.
Between January and November 2019, domestic energy production amounted to 18.28 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), decreasing by 752,000 toe compared to the same period of the previous year, and the import was of 13.841 million toe.
Electricity resources amounted to 58.641 billion kWh, down by 2.623 billion kWh, compared to the corresponding period of 2018, according to Agerpres.
In the first 11 months of the year, the main primary energy resources totaled 32.176 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), increasing by 677,100 toe compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Primary energy resources increased by 2.2%, and those of electricity decreased by 4.3%, compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the INS.
The final electricity consumption during this period was of 50.583 billion kWh, 0.6% lower than the corresponding period of 2018. The public lighting increased by 11.8%, and the population consumption increased by 22,5%.
Electricity export was of 3.112 billion kWh, down by 2.035 billion kWh (-39.5%).
