The domestic production of primary energy increased by 3.7% in the first six months of the year, compared to the similar period in 2022, and the import decreased by 6.2%, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) informs.
The final consumption of electricity in this period was 24.366 billion kWh, 7.6% lower than the corresponding period of 2022, while the final consumption of electricity in the economy decreased by 5.7%; public lighting decreased by 24.7%, and population consumption decreased by 12.6%, according to Agerpres.
Electricity export was 6.433 billion kWh, up by 3.354 billion kWh. Own technological consumption in networks and stations was 2.711 billion kWh, decreasing by 130.4 million kWh.
Between January 1 and June 30, 2023, primary energy resources decreased by 0.8%, and electricity resources increased by 3.8% compared to the same period last year. The main primary energy resources totaled 16,220 million tons of oil equivalent (toe), down by 139,000 toe compared to the same period of the previous year.
During this period, the electricity resources were 33.511 billion kWh, increasing by 1.217 billion kWh compared to the corresponding period of 2022. The production from thermal power plants was 8.382 billion kWh, decreasing by 2.205 billion kWh (-20.8 %).
Production from hydropower plants was 11.361 billion kWh, up by 3.662 billion kWh (+47.6%), and that from nuclear-electric power plants was 5.344 billion kWh, up by 150.1 million kWh (+2, 9%).
The production from wind power plants, in the first six months, was 3.995 billion kWh, down by 13.9 million kWh compared to the same period of the previous year, and the solar energy produced in photovoltaic installations during this period was 817.2 million kWh, down by 137.1 million kWh compared to the corresponding period of 2022.
