Enery has entered into a new Power Purchase / Sale Agreement (PPA) for electricity produced by a photovoltaic power plant in Romania. This agreement is composed of a virtual PPA and a power supply agreement with Nokian Tyres. The transaction represents Enery’s sixth PPA in Romania and the twelfth in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region in the last two years, strengthening Enery’s position as the largest PPA provider in the region.

“Working with Nokian Tyres underlines our mission to deliver a significant environmental impact through responsible energy practices, while contributing to Romania’s energy independence and a sustainable future,” said Severin Vartigov, Chief Commercial Officer at Enery.

The partnership guarantees that starting in 2025, for a duration of 11 years, Nokian Tyres will receive CO2-free energy from Enery’s solar project in southern Romania.

Nokian Tyres is building a new tyre factory in Oradea, the world’s first large-scale zero CO2 tyre factory. Commercial production is expected to start in early 2025

Under the agreement, Enery will supply renewable energy from a newly-built 50 MW photovoltaic power plant. The project is designed to generate approximately 80 GWh of renewable energy annually, which is equivalent to supplying clean energy to 47,226 homes and reducing CO2 emissions by 20,000 tonnes.
