Enevo Group has launched a cybersecurity application for the energy sector that it calls “unique worldwide”. At the same time, Cristian Pîrvulescu, CEO of Enevo Group, said there is no “magic wand” to protect against cyber attacks.
“With the green energy revolution, the surface area of the energy sector has increased enormously. Until a few years ago we were talking about a very clear structure, now the surface of the energy sector is huge and includes the 140,000 prosumers in the grid,” he said, at the DigitALL 2024 conference organized by Energynomics.
“There are a large number of devices connected to the network that contribute to the operation and monitoring of the system. Utilities now have a big problem, which is that they have to take systems that were put in place 15-20 years ago and adapt them to today’s operational and cyber security requirements,” according to Pîrvulescu.
In this context, Enevo has developed a cybersecurity application that can be integrated with customers’ existing security centers. It provides order traceability and increased visibility, making it easier to detect and respond to cyber attacks in a proactive way.
“It takes such tools to make light in the dark. There are two or three vendors worldwide that promote this type of solution. It’s a highly sought-after product that has had traction at the utility level. We think it’s a unique product globally because of its visibility elements,” he added.
DigitALL 2024 was organized by Energynomics, in partnership with reputed organizations such as the CIO Council, with the support of our partners: Corning, Datacor, Eaton Electric, Enevo Group, Procesio, Siemens, Sixt, Vertiv.
