With the support of ENGIE Romania, through the energiaTA civic initiative, EFdeN launched on June 12 the Sustainable Prosumer Guide 2024, an educational initiative aimed at current and future prosumers.

The first version of the Prosumer’s Guide, launched in 2019, was an effort to raise awareness and popularize the economic and environmental benefits of solar energy production, by making available to all interested parties useful information on how they can become prosumers. From then until now, the situation has evolved, the number of prosumers has reached approximately 120,000, and the growth trend is maintained in the following period. In this promising context for the development of solar energy, there was also the need to accompany the prosumers in the effort to become even more sustainable by adopting some behaviors and some energy solutions that help them make the most of the energy produced.

Thus, the Sustainable Prosumer’s Guide presents a set of useful recommendations to those who are already prosumers, so that they become (even more) sustainable. Thus, in addition to reviewing the steps to be taken to become a prosumer, the Guide provides useful information from prosumers and examples of good practice to maximize the return on investment in self-generated energy systems, offers recommendations on the choice and sizing equipment and ways to increase self-consumption and, last but not least, it provides clarifications about prosumer invoicing. All this, promoting good practices and projecting this reality into the future by developing sustainable energy communities.

“The prosumer concept has evolved and reached a new stage of development: that of defining the sustainable prosumer. Of course, the prosumer is self-evidently sustainable, but it is not enough to just produce energy, we must do it efficiently and smart. That’s why we’re proud that, together with our partners at EFdeN, we can offer prosumers a useful guide on how to become sustainable by integrating complete solar panel, heat pump and battery solutions,” said Nicolas Richard, CEO of ENGIE Romania.

“Through the energiaTa project, we assume the role of ally of those who wish to become prosumers and of those who already are and want efficiency, offering them the necessary resources to maximize their self-consumption of solar energy, with the resources they have at their disposal. Also, the Sustainable Prosumer guide is a tool that will help create sustainable energy communities,” said Claudiu Butacu, co-founder of EfdeN and EnergiaTA.

The Sustainable Prosumer’s Guide is available online.
