The situation this winter regarding the security of gas supply “is comfortable,” said Catherine MacGregor, the CEO of Engie, on Tuesday, Reuters reports.
“Today the situation for this winter is actually quite comfortable from the gas point of view,” said Catherine MacGregor at the international conference “Future Investment Initiative”, which takes place in Riyadh, between October 25-27.
“The situation regarding the security of gas supply in Europe is something we were working extremely hard on even before the outbreak of the war,” explained the head of Engie.
Gas from Russia now accounts for less than 4% of Engie’s imports, down from 17% before the Ukraine war, and in recent months supplies have fallen to just 1.5 TWh, the French utility group said recently.
