The Danish developer and operator of wind, solar, and hybrid projects, Eurowind Energy, finalized the first half of the 48 MW Pecineaga wind farm infrastructure project. The project in Constanța County is to become operational in 2025 and will supply a total of 48,000 households with green energy.

In this significant phase of the Pecineaga renewable energy project, Eurowind Energy has successfully completed 4 of the 8 foundations for each Siemens Gamesa SG 6.6-170 wind turbine, the largest type of wind power generator in Romania. Also, the first half of the infrastructure project of the wind farm ended with the execution of the essential access roads for logistics and transport, but also with the implementation of the medium voltage system that will ensure the efficient distribution of energy.

Eurowind Energy will continue to focus on the construction of the line between the connection point and the transformer station, thus guaranteeing an efficient integration into the electricity network. The first wind turbine out of a total of 8 will be installed in the Pecineaga wind farm, starting in October, with the result that at the end of the project, the electricity production capacity will be approximately 176,000 MWh/year.

“The completion of the first half of this infrastructure project represents a significant moment for Eurowind Energy and for our commitment to the development of renewable energy in Romania. We managed to complete 4 of the 8 foundations, modernize the access roads and implement the medium voltage system, all in accordance with the highest quality and safety standards.

”This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and professionalism of our team, as well as the support of our local communities and partners. Together with all the projects in our development portfolio, which currently includes 4 GW, the Pecineaga park will contribute to a sustainable economy and to the development of the wind sector in Romania. We are proud of the progress achieved and remain dedicated to our mission of providing sustainable energy solutions for a greener future,” said Adrian Dobre, Country Manager Romania within Eurowind Energy.

This project is part of the Danish operator Eurowind Energy’s ongoing commitment to invest in modern and efficient infrastructure, thereby contributing to the transition to a renewable energy economy and reducing carbon emissions.
