Energy Strategy Summit 2022 – Building value chains!
16 Jun 2022 @ 09:00 - 17 Jun 2022 @ 15:00
June 15 and June 16, at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bucharest (Bulevardul Poligrafiei 1, 013704), Energynomics organizes the most important event of the summer for the Romanian energy industry: the 2022 Energy Strategy Summit.
The 8th edition of the summit brings together the most influential decision-makers in the Romanian energy industry, for an extensive analysis of the national, European and corporate strategies – after the previous seven successful editions in 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015.
Access to the Energy Strategy Summit is allowed after completion of the form and payment of the participation fee of EUR 150 + VAT for one person, one day or EUR 250 + VAT for one person, two days.
From a strategic perspective, at the central authority level, Romania has fully embraced the objectives of the European Green Deal and the energy transition guidelines, adapting them to local needs and characteristics. Documents – already adopted, such as the NECP, the NRRP and the restructuring plan of CE Oltenia, – in the pipeline, yet, such as the hydrogen strategy, – or still ignored, such as an integrated strategy for energy efficiency constitute, all together, Romania’s real energy strategy. Many of these documents already include not only targets but also deadlines, control instances and re-evaluation of targets. Equally important, Romania has sources of funding from European and national budgets, but also the confidence of strong partners who can attract additional funding from the private sector and international financial institutions. New financial instruments, such as bilateral long-term contracts, have been confirmed and contracts for difference will follow in the shortest of times.
There are still some unfinished strategic dossiers, including the amendment of the offshore law – which would allow the survival of the gas sector, the adoption of the Maritime Spatial Development Plan – which would pave the way for offshore wind, as well as numerous small improvements to legislation and the regulatory framework to reduce red tape or even remove bottlenecks in various areas of activity.
The greatest project of a generation is now opening for all stakeholders – to define and support the development of energy value chains through which local (and/or regional) industries can contribute to the green transition and benefit from it as much as possible in the long term.
At present, there seem to be 5 areas of action where Romania has real chances to strengthen, maintain or rapidly build diversified energy value chains: nuclear, natural gas, renewables, batteries, and hydrogen.
Are we capable to do it? Are we ready to try? What are the first things we need? Who will emerge as the champion of the next decade?
2022 Energy Strategy Summit means over 20 speakers – senior officials from the Government and regulatory bodies, top managers from large companies, savvy representatives of professional associations, Romanian and foreign experts will have the opportunity to speak their minds in front of their peers.
Register to the 2022 Energy Strategy Summit! You will have the opportunity to send questions to the invited speakers and to get in touch with the other participants registered to the event!
Strategic partners: ACUE, AFEER, AIIR, AHK România, EFdeN, EPG, FEL România, HENRO, FPPG, PATRES, RPIA, RWEA, SAMER.
On June 15-16, the most influential decision-makers in the Romanian energy industry will meet for the largest professional debate dedicated to the national, European, and corporate strategy, with plenary sessions, and Keynote presentations.

We will continue to stimulate inter-institutional collaboration between Government, Parliament, local authorities, regulatory bodies, and external partners. Just like in 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015, Energynomics will provide the authorities with a comprehensive Report of this year’s edition of the Energy Strategy Summit for the Government and the regulatory bodies to take into consideration when drafting the national policies on energy.
