Selective waste collection will not be affected by the coronavirus crisis, Mircea Fechet, secretary of state for the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, said on Friday during a debate on separate waste collection during the pandemic.
“I would like to emphasize that, as the European Commission has already communicated, selective collection will in no way be affected by the coronavirus crisis. It is becoming increasingly clear and there are more and more studies proving that both waste collection, as well as its processing, or storage, should not be affected in any way by the coronavirus pandemic,” said Mircea Fechet.
The representative of the Ministry of Environment explained how the citizens in isolation at home must carry out the selective collection.
“We had discussions at the Ministry in which we discussed the possibility that only those people who are isolated at home… could no longer collect (selectively)”, mentioned Mircea Fechet, according to Agerpres.
