Final consumption of electricity was of 14.451 billion kWh in the first quarter of this year, 1.6% lower than in the same period in 2018, but population consumption increased by 12%, the National Institute of Statistics informs.
Public lighting has grown by 5.7% over the period, and its own technologic consumption in networks and stations has decreased by 248.9 million kWh to around 1.801 billion kWh. Electricity exports were 862.6 million kWh, down 968.6 million kWh.
Between 1 January and 31 March 2019, primary energy resources decreased by 1.9% and electricity prices decreased by 7.8% over the same period of the previous year, according to Agerpres.
The main primary energy resources totaled 8.725 million tons of oil equivalent (tep), down 172,800 tep compared to the first three months of 2018.
Domestic output exceeded 5.167 million toe, down 184,100 tep compared to the same period last year, and imports were 3.557 million toe.
