MET Romania Energy will invest in renewable projects in Romania, after it have launched similar greenfield projects in other countries in the region, said Florin Frunză, CEO, MET Romania Energy, during the 7th edition of the Energy Strategy Summit, an event organized by Energynomics.
MET Romania Energy, an active supplier on the Romanian market since 2009, is part of an international group based in Switzerland, with experience in South-Eastern Europe. “We are active in many markets, many hubs, especially in the gas segment, where last year we traded around 70 billion cubic meters at the group level. We are more and more an integrated company, we have electricity production capacities both with classic fuels – so based on gas, and, more and more, production capacities from renewable sources. In fact, this is one of our ambitions for the coming years, to develop new production capacities based on renewable sources. We already have the first investments in Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and I can’t hide that Romania is also of great interest to us.
“We are active both on the electricity and on the natural gas supply segment. We especially address industrial customers. We have several thousand customers and our mission is to provide stability to our customers in terms of energy supply”, he added.
