EnergoBit was involved in CEZ’s 600 MW wind project, successfully overcoming all obstacles and meeting the requirements of the external contractor, despite the skepticism of external consultants, said Florin Pop, CEO, EnergoBit, during the 7th edition of the Energy Strategy Summit, an event organized by Energynomics.
“We have managed to overcome all obstacles, and it is a certainty for me that, from a technical point of view, the current generation and future generations of specialists will be able to cope with such challenges,” he said. Cluj engineers installed about 1,600 km of medium voltage cable within the CEZ project.
“We were confronted for the first time with such a challenge: to integrate a command-control system developed by the turbine manufacturer, with a command-control system of the beneficiary, who also wants both a local and centralized command and a monitoring system from abroad, with all the requirements of the DEN [National Energy Dispatch center, e.n.], which set the standards. It was a challenge that we overcame and we are very proud of this prove of intelligence. We are now facing a second wave of RES development. I say that companies – integrators like us – are ready to face technical challenges. We learned a lot and this experience helped us to implement other very important projects for SEN, investments of distribution or transport operators”, added Pop.
He believes that digitization must be a fact, not something extraordinary. “Access to real-time data allows operators to make the right decision (for example in smart metering). Today, we take a few steps. Probably, in 5-10 years, artificial intelligence will be more and more present, in order to reach the situation where everything is directed by artificial intelligence”, he added.
At the same time, EnergoBit will become more and more involved in storage projects and will announce two new modular products. “We believe in the need for storage and we believe that this is a solution for the future. We will also come up with modular solutions for energy storage. We have a research department involved in projects totaling 7,000 MW, many of them innovative projects. Let’s see how many of them will be actually built! We want a dialogue between all parties involved, a more applied and more intense dialogue, predictability for investors in production or renewables. If the legislative system in Romania keeps changing as quickly as it did, we will not know which direction to take”, said Pop.
EnergoBit, an integrator of energy solutions based in Cluj, has 800 employees, of which 200 are specialized engineers.
