The main economic and political decision-makers in Romania and in the Central and Eastern European region have announced their participation in the Regional Energy Forum for Central and Eastern Europe – FOREN 2022, with the theme “Energy transition needs regional cooperation”, which will take place between June 12 and 15, 2022, at Vox Maris Grand Resort, Costinesti, according to a CNR-CME release.
FOREN 2022, a traditional biennial event, organized by the Association of the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (CNR-CME), with the support of the World Energy Council, reached its 16th edition and is considered the more important and representative event for the Romanian energy community, with the status of CME regional event for Central and Eastern Europe.
“FOREN 2022 overlaps with a period of war and a succession of crises caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic. In this context, with dramatic implications, FOREN 2022 responds to a real need for analysis and debate and becomes a platform for solutions to overcome the crisis, offered by energy experts in order to solve the challenges facing the energy sectors in the Central and South-East European region, as well as for the identification of potential cooperation solutions in the field of energy, on the background of the acute problems that the energy community is currently facing,” says Iulian Iancu, president of CNR-CME.
“We are witnessing multiple and unexpected challenges that are intensifying, with an impact on the regional and global energy transition. Dialogue, active involvement and capacity building of energy market actors are urgently needed. We are going through a very difficult period in a decisive decade for the future of Europe and the world. So we need to be united, think about the implications globally, and act regionally and locally to overcome this serious crisis. Many of the solutions to the challenges require joint debates on the specific issues of each area in the region, and FOREN 2022 is an ideal environment for dialogue for information exchange, experience, good practices, business meetings between experts from countries in the region, but also for potential opportunities for cooperation, so beneficial in this special period.”
FOREN 2022 includes 29 events with topics of major interest at national and international level.
