A delegation of Fondului Proprietatea had a new meeting with Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă, during which it discussed the possibility of privatizing Hidroelectrica at the end of the first semester of next year, according to a statement published on Monday on the Government’s website.
“Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă discussed, on Monday, at the Victoria Palace, with a delegation of Fondului Proprietatea, on this occasion the evolution of the investments managed by FP was analyzed and the stage of preparations for the stock market listing of the shares held by this fund was presented at Hidroelectrica and Salrom companies,” according to the press release.
“The listing of the two companies on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, supported by the Romanian Government, is part of the vision implemented at the Executive level, to improve the governance and transparency of the companies it owns. This approach will contribute to the development of the local capital market, which has a fundamental role in the development of Romanian companies and their access to financing that can boost their investments. Consolidation of investments will strengthen the economy,” said Ciucă.
“The successful completion of the listing of a substantial package of Hidroelectrica shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange will allow Romania to fulfill the objective established within the PNRR, at the end of the first semester of next year.”
