The system operator from the Republic of Moldova, Moldelectrica, announced that starting from October 15, 2022 (October 15, 2022 – delivery day; October 14, 2022 – trading day), tenders will be organized for the allocation of interconnection capacity on the border of Moldova- Romania.

The auctions will be carried out on the information platform of Transelectrica SA, for the time being only the daily allocations are available. In an intervention during the “Regional Approach – Chisinau” conference, organized by Energynomics, interim administrator Sergiu Aparatu explained in detail the tender conditions.
Also, the transport and system operator Moldelectrica concluded an agreement with Transelectrica for the supply of electricity in emergency situations. The agreement is in addition to a similar one already existing between Moldelectrica and NEC Ukrenergo, from Ukraine.
In preparation for the cold season, the authorities in Chisinau also announce that the “energy security” supplier Energocom has obtained the license from ANRE Romania and can already purchase and sell natural gas on the Romanian market. Energocom is registered on the trading platform for energy products in Romania managed by the Romanian Commodity Exchange, as well as on the RBP / Regional Booking Platform, so it can reserve natural gas transport and storage capacities including in Ukraine, Constantin Boroșan, State Secretary for Energy within the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova stated in a Facebook post.
