The funds available under the Public Lighting Program, launched on Friday morning, were fully reserved within seven minutes of the opening of the application submission session, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests (MMAP) announced on its official Facebook page.
From Friday, starting at 10:00 a.m., the administrative-territorial units registered in the Public Lighting Program were able to submit funding requests, together with the related documentation, in the IT application through the created user accounts.
“The program is addressed to administrative-territorial units organized at the commune, city or municipality level that can benefit from funds to improve the public street lighting system by using more efficient technologies that will significantly reduce energy consumption and, implicitly, the public bill,” states the relevant ministry, according to Agerpres.
The budget allocated to this financing session is of 500 million lei.
Financing is granted in a maximum percentage of 100% of the eligible expenses of an investment objective and within the limits of the amounts that can be granted for each category of applicants.
Thus, for communes with a population of up to 5,000 inhabitants, a maximum of one million lei is granted, for communes with a population of over 5,001 inhabitants – a maximum of two million lei, for cities (a maximum of three million lei), for rank 0 municipalities – Bucharest Municipality (maximum 50 million lei), for rank I municipalities (maximum six million lei), and for rank II municipalities – maximum five million lei.
According to the quoted source, registrations in the application are made within the limit of 150% of the budget allocated to the program.
