Gabriel Dumitraşcu will run for the leadership of Hidroelectrica, following the resignation from the Board of Directors of RADE, he told energynomics.ro.

“We have already submitted our resignations,” said Dumitraşcu, former chairman of RADET’s Board.

He argues that the situation of the huge debts between Elcen and RADET can be solved only by using a mix of solutions, “starting from the payment of 260 million overdue debt to RADET, and up to accepting new producers in Bucharest, the constitution a new master plan and the adjustment of tariffs.”

“I will run for a seat on the Board of Hidroelectrica. I expect for the contest announcement and look foreward to the privatization process that is much delayed- we are all talking about it for the past six months,” said Dumitraşcu.

The Board of the Autonomous Thermal Energy Distribution company of Bucharest (RADET) announced that it will resign because of the communication deficit with the City General Council and the City Hall, the Chairman of the Board of RADET saying that these resignations should be considered as a “a code red signal”.

Dumitraşcu added that the Board of Directors of RADET was required by the City Hall to resign, stating that the request came from the Deputy Mayor, Aurelian Bădulescu, during the vacation of the Mayor, Gabriela Firea.

“My feeling is that ELCEN wants to seize RADET,” said Dumitraşcu asked if he believes that the rulling party PSD wants to control the heat distributor.

Dumitraşcu also said that there is a blockage of communication and problem solving, as the problem is in the apparatus of the City Hall.

“Without reforming this device, things will not work out. We ask for apples, they are respoding about pears,” said Dumitraşcu, in the press conference.
