The Russian group Gazprom announced that in the first nine months of this year its exports of natural gas to countries which are not part of the Community of Independent States were 10.7 billion cubic meters higher than the same period last year, according to Itar Tass and Agerpres.
“The largest increase in absolute terms was recorded in exports to the UK, 4.65 billion cubic meters, Germany, 1.9 billion cubic meters, Netherlands, 1.52 billion cubic meters, France 1.5 billion cubic meters, and Poland with 1.4 billion cubic meters,” informed Gazprom.
The Gazprom gas exports to certain countries in southern Europe also increased. ‘Deliveries to Greece increased by 645 million cubic meters or 57.4%’, informed the Russian group.
Gazprom provides one third of Europe’s gas needs, and half of those supplies pass through Ukraine. In 2015 Gazprom’s gas exports rose by 8% annual rate, up from 159.4 billion cubic meters.
