Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG), the company through the investment fund Carlyle Group operates oil possessions in the Black Sea, has awarded a contract for 3D seismic data acquisition to the Norwegian company GC Rieber Shipping, announced a release of BSOG.
The contract requires that the Norwegian company subsidiary, Dolphin Geophysical, to collect and process data for 45 days off the coast of Romania.

Black Sea Oil & Gas, an independent oil and gas company based in Romania, has three hydrocarbon blocks: XIII Pelican, XV Midia and EX-25 Luceafărul, totaling 5,000 square kilometers.
These blocks were purchased from Sterling Resources Ltd. Carlyle Group took over all Romanian operations belonging to Sterling Resources in the month of August 2015. The new entity called Black Sea Oil & Gas is wholly owned by the Carlyle Group.
