GDF SUEZ Energy Romania announces the change of its trademark into ENGIE in Romania, reads a release sent to energynomics.ro.
“Adopting the new ENGIE brand in Romania comes as a natural step for the international process of rebranding GDF SUEZ, held under the motto” The world is changing and with it, our energy”, and announced by the Group on April 24, 2015″, ENIE officials said in the release.
Changing the brand is carried out in a context when energy field is marked by profound changes, and the energy transition becomes a global priority that involves reducing energy consumption by implementing energy efficiency measures, the digitization of information and the development of clean energies. ENGIE has as ambition to be a promoter and a leader of this energy transition.
The new ENGIE brand transmits a human and positive vision about energy, both by plotting the logo and the color used in the logo that suggests natural gas and electricity. ENGIE logo represents the rising sun, the symbol of a fresh start in the world of energy. The name was chosen for its sonority, it is a contraction of the word ,,energy”. The slogan “By people for people” will remain.
“After 10 years of presence in Romania, we are ready to make a new step in the evolution of the company by adopting the new brand, ENGlE. This change in brand will support the new positioning that will translate locally through the development of products and services for energy efficiency to enable lower power consumption and the development of digital solutions designed to help customers better access to our services and offerings. I trust that all these will bring added value to the capital of confidence gained so far and will contribute to the success of ENGIE brand in Romania”, says Eric Stab, Chairman and CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy Romania.
In Romania, the rebranding process will have two stages: first, GDF SUEZ Energy Romania will adopt the brand ENGlE for products and services marketed. Corporate name of the company will remain unchanged until a date to be announced later. In the second stage, the rebranding will be performed for all subsidiaries owned by GDF SUEZ Energy Romania, meaning Distrigaz Sud Rețele, Distrigaz Confort, Brăila Winds and Alizeu Eolian. The communication campaign for rebranding will run from 21 September to 31 December 2015.
