Geocart uses digitalization to prevent anomalies in infrastructure networks

Geocart, a technology provider based in Italy, has developed an innovative model that can prevent up to 80% of anomalies in power grids, but also in railway or road infrastructure, said Antonio Colangelo, the company’s founder.

“We have invested in creating a system capable of detecting and preventing anomalies between the pipes and cables of the energy and railway infrastructure. Digitalization plays a key role in this business model,” Colangelo explained at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Bucharest” organised by Energynomics together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania – CCIpR.

 

 

The model uses advanced technologies such as laser scanning, hyperspectral sensors, thermal cameras, aerial photogrammetry and satellite data. The information is analysed using a software platform based on artificial intelligence, which automatically prioritises the necessary interventions.

This solution supports environmental protection and provides constant and efficient infrastructure monitoring. Artificial intelligence accelerates processes, enabling automated analyses and rapid identification of critical issues, facilitating maintenance planning and emergency interventions.
