German investors present in the delegation organized by AHK Romania (Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry) told energynomics.ro that there is a growing interest, in the last two years, from local municipalities, for urban mobility and smart city projects.

“Among the most active cities in the discussions with us are Iasi and Cluj,” said Rafael de Mestre, general manager of TRON Consulting. “I am optimistic, in the last two years I have noticed a growing interest from the local municipalities,” also said Cătălin Coman, Smart City and IoT Business manager, Deutsche Telekom.

Coman claims that Deutsche Telekom has already implemented several projects in countries in the region, and although discussions in Romania and Bulgaria have stalled on for many years, there is now growing interest from local builders.
