Eximprod has 850 MW of renewable projects in its portfolio, and Romania will realize 5,000 MW of green projects in the next three to four years, claims Gheorghe Manole, president of CA Eximprod.

“We have the first green hybrid projects, which means wind, sun and storage. Romania will achieve in the next 3-4 years at least 5,000 MW of green capacities – there are very advanced projects. And Eximprod has projects that, within a year, can be linked to the grid. There are projects with ready-made connection stations…we are waiting for the PNRR to clarify, to tell us if they will give us money, and in a year we will do the whole project – that is the difficulty in Romania. There are many like us, ready to build. And the green projects will be done. There are still difficulties with the banks – Romania has no investment banks, only commercial banks… But, in principle, there are many opportunities. The 5,000 MW will be built with contractors, with equipment, with stations, so everyone that knows how to do something in this country will have a lot of work…Unfortunately, there are not many of them anymore,” said Gheorghe Manole, during a conference.

He also said that Eximprod has two large projects at an advanced stage, conceived since 2013.

“All our projects have connection contracts. There are about 850 MW. All projects that are of our size will be done by us, the rest will be able to be done by others (bigger entities – e.n.)… Any project financed by banks requires guarantees of over 110%,” he added.
