GoodWe has expanded its established ET series of three-phase hybrid inverters with the launch of two new models with an extended power range: the ET 40kW and ET 50kW. Designed specifically for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications, these inverters offer customisable backup options, intelligent operation and high power density, delivering reliable performance in both on-grid and off-grid modes. A solar-plus-storage solution, integrating the ET50kW model and the soon-to-be-released commercial battery cabinet, will soon be available, aimed at businesses looking for a complete energy storage system with a focus on flexibility and expandability.

“The new models meet the growing demand from contractors for versatile energy storage solutions and are poised to revolutionise the market,” said Ron Shen, Vice President of GoodWe. “Whether the focus is on optimising self-consumption, smart system operation or expanding system capacity, these solutions offer flexibility and reliability,” he added.

The key features of previous ET inverter models, such as self-consumption optimisation, peak shaving and time-of-use (TOU) settings, continue to make the ET40/50kW a reliable choice for different commercial scenarios.

ET40/50kW offers tailor-made backup, flexible parallel operation and optimised energy efficiency

A thoughtful design element of the ET40/50kW inverters is the customisable backup function. Customers can choose to add a Static Transfer Switch (STS) box, offering the flexibility to avoid additional costs if the backup function is not required.

When paired with the STS box, the inverter provides UPS-level switching to backup mode in the event of a power outage, ensuring reliable power supply and allowing large critical loads to be paralleled in both on-grid and off-grid modes. The system is also compatible with generators, and the inverter’s integrated dry-contact function enables flexible load activation.

The inverter series is compatible with 180 mm and 210 mm modules and achieves a maximum efficiency of 98.1%. It allows DC input oversizing of up to 150%, optimising energy efficiency even in low solar radiation conditions. Additional features, such as AC overload capability and a 200A bypass, allow the system to manage multiple appliances and ensure stable performance during power outages. For increased reliability, the inverters include Type II DC surge protection and an IP66 rating for outdoor use. Additional safety options such as Arc-Flash Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) and Rapid Shutdown (RSD) are also available.

To meet the higher power requirements, the ET50kW supports parallel connections for system expansion, allowing up to four inverters to be connected via GoodWe’s Ezlink for a combined power of 200kW. Soon, the SEC3000C communication solution will allow up to 10 inverters to be connected for even larger systems.

For an integrated energy storage solution, the ET40/50kW will be compatible with GoodWe’s commercial battery cabinet, forming a complete system. The system can be expanded to capacities of the order of MWh and is equipped with features such as intelligent temperature management and fire suppression, making it adaptable for various commercial and industrial (C&I) scenarios.
