Romanian Government submitted through SAPE – the Company for the Management of Energy Assets earlier this week several offers to acquire CEZ’s assets in Romania.
SAPE, 100% owned by the Romanian state, is subordinated to the Ministry of Economy and Energy. The company had submitted several non-binding offers on Monday, December 2, according to sources quoted by e-nergia.ro.
If the SAPE offer is accepted, then it will enter into the next phase of negotiations with the Czech group. The Romanian state company would have submitted different offers for each of the CEZ assets.
Letters of intent for the acquisition of CEZ assets from Romania have submitted at least two other Romanian companies: Hidroelectrica (the information was made public by the company president, Bogdan Badea) and Electrica (information by sources, but the company director, Corina Popescu, repeatedly declared that the company is interested in this transaction).
