The government is preparing an emergency ordinance for granting state aid to the Oltenia Energy Complex, so that the company can purchase the emission certificates for last year on time, said the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu.

“It has been submitted, it is at the Ministry of Finance and it will reach the Ministry of Justice… the emergency ordinance for unblocking an aid for the purchase of CO2 certificates. There can be no reform and restructuring of CE Oltenia without these CO2 certificates and we are confident that the restructuring plan it will be approved by the European Commission,” the minister said, according to Agerpres.

According to him, from the discussions he had in Brussels, it resulted that European officials received better the second version of the company’s restructuring plan.

CE Oltenia has until the end of April to purchase the certificates without penalties.
