Greenvolt Group, through Greenvolt Power, has completed the sale of an 83.2 MW wind project located in Pelplin, in north-central Poland, to Enea Nowa Energia. Valued at EUR 174.4 million, the transaction covers a fully operational wind farm consisting of 16 turbines, each with a capacity of 5.2 MW.
Located in the municipality of Pelplin, in north-central Poland, the project has obtained all necessary permits and is fully operational, comprising 16 Siemens Gamesa SG145 turbines of 5.2 MW each, for a total installed capacity of 83.2 MW.
Enea Group operates across the entire electricity value chain, from fuel supply and power generation to distribution, sales and customer service. The acquisition is aligned with the Group’s strategic focus to accelerate the development of renewable energy sources.
“The Pelplin Wind Farm project is a clear demonstration of our ability to develop utility-scale assets that are attractive and appreciated by the market. The acquisition by Enea Nowa Energia confirms this and aligns with our strategy to sell a significant part of our portfolio at RtB or COD, depending on where the most value can be created,” said João Manso Neto, CEO of Greenvolt Group.
The sale of the Pelplin wind farm, together with the recently concluded transaction of the Sompolno hybrid project, announced in early April, resulted in proceeds of almost 250 million euros for Greenvolt Group, reflecting the successful implementation of the strategy to develop and monetize high-quality renewable energy assets and the strengthening of the company’s role in the energy transition.
“We see the energy transition as an opportunity not only for the development of Enea Group, but also for increasing Poland’s energy security and improving the quality of life for current and future generations. Our development strategy until 2035 is a response to the dynamic change of the market and social environment. We focus on green energy, innovations and modern technologies that will allow us to become a more flexible and modern energy group. Investments in wind farms, such as the one in Pelplin, are a concrete step towards achieving our goals – increasing the installed capacity of renewable energy sources, diversifying the energy mix and creating value for our customers, shareholders and society as a whole,” added Grzegorz Kinelski, President of Enea.
To achieve its strategic goals until 2035, Enea Group will allocate almost PLN 107.5 billion, most of which will be invested in the development of renewable energy sources, energy storage systems and the modernization of distribution networks.
A strategic investment of regional importance
The construction of the Pelplin wind farm officially started in June 2023, and the investment was completed on schedule in December 2024. The facility holds a key position in the context of renewable energy installations due to its connection to a crucial grid node (PSE Pelplin Main Supply Point – 400/110 kV “Pelplin”), which is the most important source of electricity in the northern part of the country.
The wind farm is equipped with Siemens Gamesa SG145 turbines, some of the most advanced on the market, each with a capacity of 5.2 MW and recognized for their high efficiency and performance in large-scale projects.
Located in northern Poland, in an area recognized for its favorable wind conditions, the project makes a significant contribution to the country’s energy transition and increases the resilience of the electricity grid, helping to reduce the risk of energy shortages.
“The entire implementation process of the Pelplin project demonstrates our expertise and ability to execute and deliver, consolidating our strong position on the Polish market as a leader in the development of renewable energy. Pelplin is a clear example of an investment designed from the very beginning to ensure maximum efficiency and the highest quality standards,” added Radek Nowak, CEO of Greenvolt Power.
In the Utility-Scale segment, Greenvolt Group has a portfolio of 13.0 GW in 18 countries, with a strategy to sell 70–80% of these projects on RtB or COD. In Romania, the Group’s portfolio includes 378 MW of wind power and 70 MW of solar power. The Group also launched Greenvolt Next last year to lead decentralized renewable energy solutions for self-consumption, energy efficiency, solar energy storage and electric mobility in the B2B segment.
