The Bucharest Stock Exchange started, at the beginning of the year, the revision process of the corporate governance Code, announced Radu Hanga, the president of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
In this context, he mentioned that he would like to change the name to the good governance Code.
“The corporate governance code of the Bucharest Stock Exchange has been in existence since 2015. At the beginning of this year, we started the process of revising the code…So it was really good that we acted preventively. That is, when the recommendation came from OECD, we were already with the project in progress, with the revision project of the Corporate Governance Code. Anyway, we have the framework there, we have the basic principles there, maybe we can change its name and place of corporate governance, to- We call it good governance, because it sounds more friendly. When I hear the term corporate governance, I often get an adverse reaction. So, we are in a process of revision , within the code,” said Radu Hanga, quoted by Agerpres.
He mentioned that small adjustments will be introduced in the Code and a process of consultation with the issuers will be carried out because when recommendations are made they should be based on “common sense”.
