A new taskforce is formed these days to help large gas consumers, president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), Niculae Havrileţ, told energynomics.ro.

Havrileţ says that large consumers will benefit from the tax deductibility such as for gas transport, but certainly will not offer them direct discounts for the gas price.

“We’re forming these days a work group, we’ll see what will be proposed for large companies, which deem in particular a decline in export competitiveness,” says Havrileţ.

ANRE future regulations will be in tune with European concerns, DG Enterprises (Directorate General for Enterprises of the European Commission) already formulating concerns about the decline in productivity of the companies affected by energy prices.

“We cannot intervene at the level of the gas price, but might offer a deductible transport”, or they can negotiate the distribution margin, explained Havrileţ.

He said that there are premises for a lower domestic gas price, especially with the establishment of virtual points of entry and exit from the system and other similar measures that will result in a reduction in the cost, but also with the launch free trading market.

He also said that the export will be made by any supplier and found that the selling price will be determined by the market, now at a competitive level.
