Hidroelectrica cancels the purchase procedure for the operational leasing of 203 sedan and station wagons, respectively SUVs, under the conditions of the entry into force on May 15 of GEO no. 34/2023, the company announced.
Launched in the public procurement system on May 13, 2023, the auction – currently cancelled, aimed at replacing the car fleet that the company owns as a result of the conclusion in 2019 of a contract of the same type (operational leasing), a commercial agreement that will reach its final deadline on January 6, 2024. Practically, after the mentioned date, all the vehicles currently used by the company will leave its portfolio as a result of the de facto expiration of the contract, a document that provides for the return of the goods.
Hidroelectrica has been using this type of service since 2014 to insure the company’s car fleet, the vehicles thus obtained being the Dacia Duster for the first contract (run between 2014-2019), respectively the Suzuki SX4 and S-Cross for the second (run between 2019 – January 2024).
The cars requested by the specifications related to the third potential operational leasing contract also had minimum equipment and engine conditions (most between 1000-1600 cubic cm, gasoline), and the price of the offer that had to be presented included compulsory insurance and CASCO, service and maintenance for the entire period, as well as summer and winter tires.
“The cancellation of the public procurement procedure will have a major impact on Hidroelectrica in the near future, given that the company does not own any other machines, and the activity carried out at the company level involves the movement of employees to hydro-power plants, investment objectives and works carried out on construction sites, etc. We also emphasize the fact that most of the company’s hydro-energy facilities are located in areas with high altitudes, and the current actions involve, among other things, interventions in hard-to-reach areas, the permanent supervision of the behavior of constructions, the condition of dikes and dam crowns, such as and the movement of the company’s specialists between the areas of interest, depending on the needs. In addition, Hidroelectrica’s activity requires, among other things, access to mountainous areas, as well as the use of forest roads throughout the whole year, regardless of the weather conditions,” company officials added.
