Hidroelectrica, the largest electricity producer in Romania, which also has a wind farm in Dobrogea, launched a tender for the purchase and commissioning of a storage facility in the park, according to e-nergia.ro. The Crucea wind farm has an installed power of 108 MW and a 13% share of the supply market.
“The object of the work is the implementation of state-of-the-art technical solutions in the field of electricity storage in accumulator batteries associated with the production of electricity in wind turbines and, at the same time, the integration of the electricity storage facility in the existing facilities at CEE Crucea”, it is stated in Hidroelectrica’s announcement.
According to the specifications, Hidroelectrica would like to install a storage facility with a power of 36 MW and a nominal capacity of 72 MWh.
The estimated value of the contract is around 100 million lei, and the type of procedure is the open tender, the award criterion being the best value for money. Price only matters 60% though. 24% of the score is given by the number of charge-discharge cycles guaranteed until a health state of 70% is reached, 10% by the granted warranty period and 6% by the system implementation period.
The duration of the contract is 23 months.
The company is awaiting bids for the storage system and its installation by December 5.
