The state company Hidroelectrica, one of the largest energy producers in the country, launched on Wednesday in the electronic public procurement system (SEAP), the open tender for the design and execution works for the repair of the dissipator at the Iron Gates I, a contract estimated at 58.14 million lei without VAT, while the deadline for submitting bids is December 7. The works at the Iron Gates I could be completed within three years from the signing of the contract with the winner of the procurement procedure.
“On October 28, 2020, Hidroelectrica launched in the electronic public procurement system (SEAP), the open tender for the design and execution works for the investment ‘Additional protection measures for the Iron Gates I overflow dam’. The ‘turnkey’ type contract is estimated at 58.14 million lei without VAT, and the deadline for submitting bids is December 7,” the company announces.
Located downstream of the dam, the dissipator at the Iron Gates I is a particularly important part of the construction in terms of the safety of the Danube objective. From a technical point of view, the realization of the project is indispensable in preventing the risk of additional damage of the dissipator spur, with implications in affecting the gallery system of the overflow dam, the company states.
“The Danube riverbed has undergone morphological changes in certain areas, as shown by measurements made over time. The need to repair the constructions, which have been in operation for over 48 years, was established in the Romanian-Serbian Joint Commission by the two partners operating jointly SHEN Iron Gates I. The parties decided that the project should be carried out by each beneficiary on its area of responsibility,” said Bogdan Badea, president of Hidroelectrica’s directorate.
