Hidroelectrica is considering the possible acquisition of some Romanian assets of CEZ and Enel groups, most probably from the renewable energy production sector, as part of its expansion plan through acquisitions.
The plan is in its nascent phase, in the next period the economic benefits of the potential acquisitions will be analyzed, the resources needed for them will be estimated, as well as the possible regulatory obstacles, including regarding the competition law, according to profit.ro.
Since 2015, when Hidroelectrica was still in insolvency, the management of the company said it wants to buy wind and photovoltaic parks. Last year, general manager Bogdan Badea said that Hidroelectrica is considering the possibility of buying wind and photovoltaic parks in the country, as well as other energy companies, outside the borders.
