Hidroelectrica will begin in less than a week the tender procedure for awarding the contract for the refurbishment of Vidraru hydropower plant, an investment estimated at 80 million euros, said Remus Borza, the Euro Insol representative, the insolvency administrator of the company.
For this year, the state company has planned investments of 250 million euros. The Vidraru plant, commissioned in 1964, has a capacity of 220 MW.
The Euro Insol representative has recalled Bretea hydropower plant, an investment of 50 million euros, which should be inaugurated in June. For the 35 MW plant from Răstolniţa, a government decision is still required, although the documentation was submitted in 2012. This project is estimated at 220 million euros.
“We’ve waited 4 years for the Romanian governments to promote a Decision which would solve the problem of those lands (90 hectares – n.r.) which will be flooded by the reservoirs”, stated the representative of the judicial administrator, quoted by economica.net. In 2016 the refurbishment contracts for Râul Mare-Retezat and Mărişelu plants will be awarded, says the lawyer Remus Borza.
The termination of insolvency is expected in April or May, with listing on the stock exchange in November, also says Remus Borza, writes economica.net.
