Hidroelectrica is today the main producer of electricity in Romania, as together with the small units (MHC), the production of hydro in the national energy system was almost 31%, according to Transelectrica.
Thus, today around lunch, the national system had its own consumption of 7,743 MW and a production of 7,684 MW. Coal was next, with about 1,700 MW (22%), hydrocarbons with about 1,570 MW (20%) and Nuclearelectrica, with 1.349 Mw (17.55%).
Solar was responsible for 479 MW (6%), and wind and biomass accounted together for less than 2.5%.
