Romanians bought 322 ecological cars (electric, hybrid and plug-in) in the first month of this year, up 66.8% over the same period in 2018, according to data from the Association of Automobile Producers and Importers APIA.
Statistics reveal that 275 units were hybrid cars out of the total in January 2019, 143.4% more than the same period of the previous year, 35 were full electric (12, 9%) and 12 in the hybrid plug-in category (down 75.5%), according to Agerpres.
In the analyzed period, the share of new eco cars in total sales at national level reached 3.6%, while in the first month of 2018, the percentage stood at 2.7%.
However, in January 2019, compared to december 2018, 42% fewer green cars were marketed in all three categories, namely electric, hybrid and plug-in.
