GREEN ENERGY EXPO, ROMENVIROTEC and the new URBAN SMART EXPO concept together create the most comprehensive platform dedicated to smart technologies and solutions in the field of sustainability. Taking a comprehensive approach across sectors, the largest green exhibition in Romania will take place from 9-11 April at the Romexpo exhibition complex and will encompass innovations for renewable energy production (solar, wind), smart waste collection, sorting and recycling, filtration and purification of drinking and waste water and air, energy efficiency, digitised public services and smart transformation of urban life.

“The adoption of sustainable practices and access to renewable energy sources can only be realised through a concerted effort at societal level, which is why we are continuing the initiative started last year to promote the best solutions for public health, environmental protection, energy efficiency and smart infrastructure development. Building on the idea of Urban Smart Expo, we have designed a broad platform for the sustainable and digitised future of Romania’s localities. Together with our partners, we have created the meeting place of those who build innovations in the field of sustainability with those who have the decision to implement them at community level for a better quality of life.”, says Camelia Buda, General Manager EUROEXPO FAIRS and organiser of GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC.

Thousands of high-performance green technologies and solutions from over 500 brands on 15 000 square metres

The exhibition will have a complexity given by the multitude of solutions on show, from over 500 brands, and the dozens of events organised over the three days, with the participation of leading local and international organisations. The international component is also emphasised by the presence of many countries that will have dedicated national pavilions, including China, strongly represented by large manufacturers or importers of renewable energy production solutions.

The 2025 edition will have 3 macro strands, which also define the main sectors where solutions are showcased, as well as the themes of the events.

GREEN ENERGY EXPO will feature a majority of solar power generation technology, including solar (PV) modules, inverters, batteries, energy storage systems, e-mobility, solar mounting and optimisation systems, energy efficiency solutions, accessories. Wind energy, geothermal energy, bio-energy, bio-energy, hydrogen or energy efficiency solutions will also be on show.

9 April will be dedicated to the Energy Day conference, organised together with Energynomics, on relevant topics on the public agenda, such as energy pricing, electric mobility and storage solutions, green energy for self-consumption, energy sustainability of buildings, etc.

ROMENVIROTEC will focus on solutions and themes in the field of environmental protection, i.e. waste collection, sorting and recycling – machines for waste collection and transport, ecological islands for digitally accessible collection, equipment and solutions for sorting, treatment and recycling of waste, street cleaning, maintenance and snow clearing services, centres for recycling, conditioning and use of secondary raw materials, management of hazardous substances, etc. One of the novelties of the year is water management – analytical and laboratory techniques, valves, water supply and sewerage systems, pumps and systems, pipelines, pipes and sewers, water and wastewater treatment plants.

For 3 days, conferences on topical issues will also be organised for this sector, and the main event will be the “International Forum on Environment and Energy”, organised by FADI and Infomediu Europa, throughout the fair and with the presence of representatives of the authorities from the Ministries of Economy, Environment and Energy.

The international conference “Challenges and Opportunities in the Romanian Water and Wastewater Sector” will also take place throughout the exhibition, with multiple workshops and round tables organised by the Association Partnership for Projects and European Funds (APPFE) and the Federation of Water Intercommunity Development Associations (FADIDA), where successful projects and models will be presented, as well as opportunities for integrating current solutions and technologies into future public and private investment projects.

For the first time in Romania, ISWA (International Solid Waste Association), the number one network in the area of waste management, will be present with a meeting point for professionals to meet with the network’s management.

A national conference on sanitation will also be organised by the Romanian Association for Sanitation and Waste Management.

URBAN SMART EXPO will have a demo area with prototypes of the technology of the future. But the most active part will be the events, organised together with the Romanian Smart City Association, on areas that define the future of smart cities: urban mobility, urban infrastructure, smart lighting, connectivity technologies, smart living, security and safety, enabled technologies, smart governance, urban integration and inclusion, digital infrastructure and connectivity, digital services for communities. Among these, an important moment will be on 10 April, with the organisation of the Congress of Mayors and Local Government in Romania, as well as the Gala for Sustainability in Local Government, an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, partnerships and recognition of those who are shaping the sustainable future of communities in Romania.

The organising partners of the three main sectors and partner associations are: ARM, APPFE, FADI, FADI DA, ARSMD (ARMD), Romanian Compost Association (ARC), Builders Federation, RPIA, ISWA, Solar Academy, Intelligent Energy, Solar Plaza Summit, German RETech Partnership.
