Net investments in the national economy amounted to 18.447 billion lei in the first quarter of this year (Q1), up 5% from the same period in 2019, according to provisional data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
According to the quoted source, the upward trend was based on the increases registered in the case of new construction works (+20.3%) and in that of equipment (including means of transport), by 8.8%.
On the other hand, in the “Other expenses” section there was a decrease of 37.3%, at the comparative level of Q1 2020 vs Q1 2019, according to Agerpres.
Regarding the structure of net investments by activities of the national economy, official statistics show that 33.5% went to Constructions (compared to 31.9% in Q1 of the previous year), 28.2% in Industry (26.9%, in Q1 2019), 24.2% in Trade and Services (23.1%, last year) and 5.7% in Agriculture (4.6%, in the same period of 2019).
