The number of companies and authorized individuals in insolvency decreased by 26.16% in the first six months of 2020, compared to the same period last year, to 2,360 insolvencies, according to data published on the website of the National Office of the Trade Register (ONRC).
Most companies and small individual firms that went into insolvency were registered in Bucharest, respectively 423, decreasing by 23.23% compared to January-June 2019. On the next places in the insolvency hierarchy are Bihor counties – with 211 insolvencies (minus 12.08%), Constanţa – 140 (minus 17.16%) and Cluj – 139 (plus 12.1%), according to Agerpres.
By fields of activity, in the first six months, the highest number of insolvencies was registered in the wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 676 (minus 31.79%), in construction – 372 (minus -20.17%) and in the manufacturing industry – 297 (minus 21.43%).
In June, 724 insolvencies were registered, most of them in Bucharest – 212, and in the counties of Bihor – 57, Cluj – 46 and Constanţa – 28.
