Incorrect installation of photovoltaic panels and their operation without respecting safety rules have caused numerous solar equipment fires in recent months, said Cosmin Iconaru, Assistant Product Engineer at Huawei Digital Power, during the “Regional Approach Chișinău” conference organized by Energynomics.

“Many countries are already taking steps to ensure the safe operation of smart PV by implementing safety laws and standards, and Romania should do the same,” he added.

Another problem affecting the correct and full use of residential PV installations is the use of equipment produced by several brands, which, due to differences and peculiarities, influence the costs of the beneficiary. In addition, it makes it difficult to operate and maintain solar power plants.

“From 2008 to date 91% of inverter brands have disappeared from the market,” added Iconaru.

On the other hand, as technology advances, a downward trend in energy cost can be observed through the implementation of smart PV, but also an increase in production capacity. In addition, as the demand for PV increases, the levelized cost of energy has a downward trend and this represents a decrease in the cost of implementing PV solutions.
