The owner of Interagro, Ioan Niculae, accuses the two gas producers in Romania of not wanting to provide the necessary gas for the fertilizer plants he owns, currently closed.
He says he has always found cheaper gas to import from Gazprom, in quantities required to operate. In addition, an ANRE provision may increase gas prices if the consumption quota is slightly exceeded, which is not the case in other countries.
“Since we do not receive any cubic meter of Romanian gas, we cannot start them (the plants e.n.) with Romanian gas. All our requests to get offers from the two Romanian producers were doomed to failure. In less than half an hour, we receive invariably the same answer: we do not have a quantity for you,” Niculae told e-nergia.ro.
